I often come across people saying they aren’t racist, “Just against immigration.” Chat a bit with them and it is quickly clear that they are racists, and they only object to immigration of people with darker skin than them. They’re just trying to deflect from it by picking some other characteristic such as “Muslim” or “immigrant,” whilst in their head they are only picturing dark skins. Perhaps they think they are being oh-so-clever in trying to hide their racism, but they might as well go around with a big R on their foreheads.
The same people may well flag up a crime committed by someone with dark skin, whilst conveniently ignoring all the crime pages of the local paper which show that 99% of the recently-prosecuted local criminals, wife beaters, rapists and thugs were all white. Selective vision. Likewise they conveniently forget about the high-profile long-term white abusers like Jimmy Savile, Rolf Harris, Jeffrey Epstein, Gary Glitter, Harvey Weinstein, possibly a royal, Stuart Hall, Trump, Max Clifford, Fred Talbot etc etc.
And when they mention anything negative which has been done, they will always mention the ethnicity or background of the perpetrator when they have dark skin (“Oh, they’re Indian”, “Oh, they’re an immigrant”) but they never highlight it when the perpetrator is white. They want to try and create the false view that all the criminals have dark skin. If you are complaining about something then complain about the act, not the ethnicity of the person doing it. Ethnicity is irrelevant. Saying “the land owners have a responsibility to clean up the mess” is absolutely fine. Saying something like, “The landowners, who are Indian, should clean up the mess” is not.
None of this is difficult, but it does seem to be hard to grasp for anyone with racist tendencies.

Update 2025-05-20: a local person tried to claim that a recent racism demo was “inclusive”. Hmmm. Some of my relatives were immigrants to the UK. Demonstrations in the town where I live, aimed at making immigrants feel unwelcome and telling them they should leave, would logically also be aimed at my relatives. Unless my relatives don’t count because they are white, and it is only dark-skinned or Muslim immigrants that the objectors hate? Which, obviously, is racism. Neither interpretation is inclusive.
