Some of these are news items, others are commentary and opinions. I thought they were all interesting, but inclusion here doesn’t mean I fully agree with everything. (I hate that I feel the need to include a disclaimer for something so obvious to a sensible person!)
Environment: The Mirror reports: "The Green Party has lodged an official complaint with the BBC over its election coverage. Green co-leader Adrian Ramsey has accused the broadcaster of downplaying the climate crisis by not holding a specific debate on the issue. Adrian said the debate was needed as the Tories and Labour were "happy to avoid scrutiny of their climate policies. We know that the fossil fuel lobby has been working hard to break the national consensus on the need to take urgent action on the climate and nature emergencies."
Police crimes: the Metropolitan police has issued a series of wide-ranging apologies to campaigners for the “indefensible” use of undercover officers to spy on them, a public inquiry has heard.
Democracy / climate: More than 400 demonstrators are named in court orders that restrict protests at more than 1,200 locations, a BBC File on 4 investigation has found. The civil injunctions are in force at places like oil terminals, petrol stations and racetracks across England and Wales and also apply to “persons unknown”, meaning anyone could be prosecuted.
Palestine / Israel: Palestinians have been fleeing Gaza City's eastern Shejaiya district amid intense Israeli bombardment and a reported incursion by ground forces. One Gaza City resident said it had "sounded as if the war is restarting", while Hamas-run authorities said air strikes had killed at least seven people. (Note: the UK and US are still supplying Israel with weapons for its ongoing genocide, even after nine months of killing.)
War: “NATO Talks Conscription” Since most states have murderous foreign policies (UK and US included), the idea of forced conscription to attack other nations is abhorrent to anyone who cares about justice.
Education: almost 1.8 million people are now in at least £50,000 of UK student debt, data obtained by BBC News reveals.
Palestine / Israel: “Netanyahu is promising a forever war” [Jewish Voice for Peace]
Criminals: the US Supreme Court has conferred broad immunity to former presidents. It means they can get away with war crimes, assassinations, and perversions of justice.
