I’ll take a break from posts about litter, saving green spaces, and knowing who is not your enemy. Instead, I want to follow on from my posts about Aaron Bushnell, and the United Nations report about Israel’s systematic use of sexual violence.
Often, our media lies to us. We have to make a concerted effort to discover what we are not being told. To that end, a plethora of films and documentaries have been made available for free. Here are links to some of them, a variety of film types, from documentaries to feature films.
1948: Creation & Catastrophe (2023)
Keffiyeh (2023)
The Place (2021)
Gaza Fights For Freedom (2019)
The Shadow Of Absence (2018)
As The Poet Said (2018)
Strawberry (2017)
Wedding of Galilee (2016)
Swings (2014)
Tell Your Tale Little Bird (2013)
Salt of this Sea (2008)
They Do Not Exist (1974)
A few of those would give historical context, and a better understanding of the Palestinian people, and the injustice they have faced.
And, to go with those links, here are some commentaries on this week’s news:
“Red Crescent mourns its executed Gazan dead” (Jewish Voice For Labour)
“The graver Israel’s atrocities in Gaza, the quieter the BBC grows” (Jonathan Cook)
“Red Crescent Worker Who Survived Israeli Massacre Recounts Horror” (Drop Site News)
“Israel has wiped the city of Rafah off the map” (Council Estate Media)
“Truth Is Antisemitism. Protest Is Terrorism. Dissent Is Russian Propaganda.” (Caitlin Johnstone)
“Trump Shares Collateral Murder-Style Snuff Film On 15th Anniversary Of Collateral Murder” (Caitlin Johnstone)
Peace.
