To the cowardly Conservative who pinned a VOTE CONSERVATIVE poster to my fence during the night:
I realise you feel desperate and frightened regarding the pounding you’ll get in the coming election, but I’m disappointed that you flout the law. It’s illegal to put your unwanted spam posters on other people’s property without permission. I’ve reported this to the Electoral Commission as a breach of regulations, and recommend others do the same whenever they spot a sneaking Conservative hiding in the bushes.
I’ve also raised it with the local Council, and written to my local papers about the dirty tricks of Conservative supporters.
No doubt they had seen my Green Party window poster and had a brain fart. I’ve never noticed the Tories feeling so threatened and desperate before, it’s brilliant that they realise they’ll lose the election. So they crept to the corner out of sight, under the cover of darkness, pinning the silly blue thing and running away like an eight-year-old, shitting themselves about being caught. And they wonder why people laugh at them. Or ignore them:
I’ve ordered a bigger Green Party sign.
I’m always fascinated by Tory double standards. If anyone stuck a Green Party poster on Sunak’s gold-plated and electrified fence we’d never hear the end of “disrespectful”, “abuse of property”, “illegal activity”. But then they do it themselves.
PS At the bottom of their poster it says (in almost illegibly small print, which may be another breach of regulations, but luckily I have an industrial magnifying glass): “Promoted by Alan Mabbutt on behalf of the Conservative Party, both at 4 Matthew Parker Street, London SW1H 9HQ”.
Update 2024-06-06
I also wrote to the local Conservative party.
“I’ve had Conservatives putting your posters on my fence. It is private property. I have reported it to the Electoral Commission and DG Returning Officer. If it happens again I will also report it to the police and get the local reporters in to see how you are breaking the law. It’s doubly stupid as my fence is in full sight of a traffic camera so the police can easily identify the Conservative criminal.”
Promoted by Karl Drinkwater (Green Party) at The Gate, Keppoch Street, Cardiff CF24 3JW.
